Yale University enjoys the distinction of having the deepest relationship with China of any university in the United States with ties dating back to 1835. Yale and China’s collaborations and programs stand as examples of how global universities are educating leaders and advancing the frontiers of knowledge, not simply for their own countries, but also for the entire world.

Collaborations over the years include joint educational and research projects, and student and faculty exchange programs that have developed cross-cultural understanding. Yale’s collaboration partners include Fudan University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Peking University, among others.

Yale Center Beijing recently released its 2022-23 annual report detailing its many activities, including photos highlighting a series of visits with partner institutions across China. The center, which will mark its tenth year since opening in the fall of 2014 in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, enables the University to expand existing activities and form new partnerships with organizations in China, while also serving as a gathering place for alumni from throughout Asia.
