Yale School of Nursing and Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand, have enjoyed a long and fruitful collaboration which started in the early 1970's. Mahidol student Chatsiri Mekwiwattanawong studied at YSN for a year as part of an exchange program between the two universities.
Since 2007, Yale and the National University of Singapore have collaborated to offer two Yale Summer Session courses on “Southeast Asia in Context” and “The History of Southeast Asia.” The course includes field trips in Singapore, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Quang Phu Van teaches Vietnamese Language and Literature at Yale under the auspices of the Council on Southeast Asia Studies. He has spent considerable time in Vietnam developing teaching materials and producing DVD-based language lessons and culturally informative videos.
