This MacMillan Center council, known as CLAIS, seeks to enhance the understanding of Latin America, Spain and Portugal. The council draws on the strengths of Yale’s pioneering departments of History, Political Science, Anthropology, and Spanish and Portuguese, among others.
Each summer the Law School sponsors a student exchange with several universities in Argentina, Brazil and Chile. Student participants focus on a wide range of areas including human rights, constitutional law, international law, and criminal law.
The Latin American Interdisciplinary Gender Network brings together faculty, scholars, postdoctoral researchers, and doctoral students across universities throughout the United States and Latin America.
