Yale Professor Mushfiq Mobarak describes the arc of his research on scalable, evidence-based policy responses to the deprivations of poverty. In a recent Q&A article published in Yale Insights, Mobarak discusses what led his team to launch the Yale Research Initiative on Innovation and Scale (Y-RISE). In early 2020, the Y-RISE reasearchers repurposed their existing infrastructure to respond to the COVID crisis — building ties in Bangladesh that could be valuable long after the pandemic passes.
