Yale's Fall 2020 Announcement & Further Information for International Students

07/01/20

On July 1, 2020 an announcement about the fall semester was made by Yale President Peter Salovey and Provost Scott Strobel. For general information about how Yale will operate in the fall, please visit the Yale COVID-19 page for details.

While Yale staff members are working hard to assist international students in obtaining travel visas, we recognize that many international students may be unable to return to campus in time for the August start dates of most schools. Most schools will have online options for those unable to attend the first month of classes. Some programs will be available online for the whole semester. For students who may have questions about their status as international students and enrollment options, further information has also been sent from the office of the relevant school dean.

Yale’s Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) also maintains a resource page. New students should consult the OISS website’s FAQ for Newly Admitted Students page for the most up to date information about visa issues and travel concerns.

The OISS website will also continue to feature important updates to help Yale community members better understand relevant information regarding news such as U.S. government announcements as they are made. You can visit this news page and to stay informed, sign up to receive OISS email newsletters. The website also features information about making an appointment to meet with an OISS advisor, which can be done by email or Zoom meeting, for guidance.
