With a generous gift from the Three Cairns Group, the Yale School of the Environment (YSE) will establish a transformative program aimed at supporting the next generation of environmental leaders in the Global South, where millions of people are particularly impacted by the effects of climate change caused by the world’s biggest greenhouse gas emitters.

As the effects of climate change are increasingly felt around the world, the Global South is on the front lines. Rising sea levels, unpredictable weather patterns, and extreme heat are increasing food insecurity and migration, with the lowest-emitting countries disproportionately bearing these climate change-related burdens. To address these formidable challenges, YSE will launch The Three Cairns Climate Program for the Global South.
