Yale celebrates debut of Jackson School at ‘unique moment’ in world history

10/19/22

On October 15th 2022, Yale University formally marked the opening of the new Jackson School of Global Affairs with a day-long program at Woolsey Hall that included a keynote lecture by CNN’s Fareed Zakaria ’86, panel discussions with former top U.S. diplomats, and remarks from Yale leaders. Hundreds of Yale affiliates gathered for the day-long program to celebrate the launch of Yale’s first new professional school in more than four decades.

The school — which opened its doors on July 1 and welcomed its first cohort of graduate students this fall — trains and equips new generations of leaders to devise thoughtful, evidence-based solutions for challenging global problems. Before becoming a stand-alone professional school, it was known as the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs.
