Yale University President Richard Levin, PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi (School of Management graduate), journalist and political commentator Fareed Zakaria (Yale College graduate), deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India Rakesh Mohan (Yale College graduate), and Union Minister of Human Resource Development for India Kapil Sibal participated in the Yale India Initiative Symposium “India Today: Challenges and Opportunities” on September 21, 2010 in New York City.

The Yale CEO Leadership Summit held its first global program in New Delhi, India in November 2009. Leaders from business, government, academia, and civil society from across the United States, Europe, and India convened to explore the theme of "Navigating the Global Oceans of Opportunity for Indian Business."

Rakesh Mohan, who graduated with a BA from Yale, is a former deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India. Mr. Mohan is an expert in the areas of economic reforms and liberalization, industrial economics, urban economics, infrastructure studies, and economic regulation. He now teaches at the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs.
