Ernesto Zedillo Ponce De Leon, President of Mexico from 1994 to 2000, came to Yale in 2002 to serve as director of the Yale Center for the Study of Globalization. His arrival marked a homecoming of sorts for Zedillo, who earned his Ph.D. in economics at Yale.
