International Agreements
Yale University currently has over 140 agreements with universities and organizations outside the United States. These agreements cover a variety of relationships, ranging from student exchange programs and research collaborations to executive education programs.
Faculty members who would like to consider any international arrangements that would require a commitment of Yale resources (e.g., funding, equipment, personnel, including faculty time), any use of the Yale name or marks, or any commitment of intellectual property created by them in their professional field, should consult with their respective Dean as early in the process as possible. The Office of International Affairs will work with the Office of the General Counsel and the interested faculty member and Dean to shape a relationship and agreement that, as much as possible, meets faculty goals and is consistent with University policy and practice. The Office of the General Counsel has published Working Globally, a guide to legal considerations for those who are working in international settings. Note that institutional agreements must be reviewed by the Office of the General Counsel and others, and may only be signed by an authorized Yale representative.
